I'm Ashley and I've been happily
married to my sweet husband, Jason for a bit over four years. He's an
eternal Ph.D. student with no plans to graduate and I run a medium-sized
Montessori preschool. We live in a tiny apartment with our hamster,
Houdini and all of The Real Housewives.
After a whirlwind of fertility woes, we found out that we're expecting our first in September 2014. We're so excited and a little anxious about what parenthood will bring to us, but we're ready for the adventure. We both come from wonderful, supportive families who are also so excited about the arrival of baby Vacuza. His family is on the other side of the continent and mine is about an hour and a half away. This blog is to help make everyone feel a part of our lives and of this pregnancy and to share in our excitement even from miles and miles away.
Jason and I are both homebodies. You won't find us at the club, or bars, or concerts, or large crowds. We like quiet dinners at our favorite local restaurants, attending small plays or classical concerts, and going to local festivals and farmers markets. I like crafting and pinteresting. Jason likes eating cookies and working out. (which I will never understand). He watches zero television and doesn't understand the appeal (though he'll Netflix Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead), I watch Real Housewives, House Hunters, Modern Family, Downton Abbey, and The Pioneer Woman. Whatever show is on, we like to be in bed by 10:30. We're old souls, maybe.
